In his first public comments about San Marcos' new marijuana ordinance since the decriminalization referendum passed in November, San Marcos Police Chief Stan Standridge expressed frustration with the 'politics' of the new law and doubled down on the linkage between violent crime and marijuana.At the San Marcos Police Department Chief's Advisory Panel meeting on Jan. 18, Standridge said unspecified people within the police department had issues with how the marijuana decriminalization ordinance came about.
